The Psychology of how to use paranoia

I am going to start off real easy with this topic of paranoia. Paranoia is-

The irrational and persistent feeling that people are ‘out to get you’ or that you are the subject of persistent, intrusive attention by others.

~ Better Health Channel

Now paranoia in simple terms the constant fear that something is going to go sideways. Alright then, now that you have a gist of what Paranoia is, we can understand the psychology behind it.

Why does paranoia occur and what are the types along with its cure?

You can get answers to the above 3 questions at Better Health Channel.

I am writing this to tell you, how to use your paranoia to your benefit and take advantage of it? ( Warning- You must have it under control or you just starting to get paranoid otherwise take proper consultation)

When you have paranoia it is better to take consultation of a Psychologist however, on the contrary, you can use it for better use. This can only be done if you have it (paranoia) under your control. If you don't know or don't have it under control, you must go see a Psychologist or, you can do Self-journaling.

How to use Paranoia to your benefit?

3 Steps to do use paranoia to your benefit

  1. Do self journaling and meditation
  2. Know what your mind is insecure about ( You get this from step 1)
  3. Take actions towards that insecurity

A little background on paranoia- it usually occurs due to your past, the stress in the daily routine or an unexpected blow-up in a relationship and you are feeling that it will repeat in the future.

How I used paranoia to my advantage?

Step 1: I did self journaling consistently on everything that I am insecure about. I don't know how I did this however, I still do it today and it has helped me every time.

Step 2: Once I got clarity that my mind is running certain patterns in loops over and over again, I got in touch with my insecurities. From coding, getting bullied, someone attacking, and a little into health situations as well.

These all were the insecurities that I used to have.

Step 3. Now that you have found what makes you so uncomfortable, take small actions. Let me write that again, “Small actions.” I was paranoid of someone attacking all the time and me getting intimidated by him/her, to counter that I started doing exercising so when such a situation does occur, I am ready for it. Now that's just a small example of my situation and you can use it too.

A little paranoia can go a long way. It keeps alert and makes you work on yourself.

Personal experience- Paranoia is your mind telling you that you have situations and conditions you have got to deal with.

With that being said, take proper medication and consultation, if you are in the later stages of Paranoia.
